Valley Golf Center opened its doors in January of 2018. The location of Valley Golf Center is what was formerly known as River Park Golf Center. In 1998, a group of individuals dreamed of a golf center that would be the ultimate golf training facility in north Fresno. The facility would host a 300-yard driving range, Par 3 – 9 hole golf course with sand traps & water hazards, a café, a golf teaching area, stadium lighting for play after dark, and Pro Shop. Over the years, River Park Golf Center became the home practice facility for many high school and middle school golf teams, including Fresno State’s Golf Teams. With all of these amenities, River Park Golf Center also acquired a reputation for serving the recreational golfer as a fun place to practice & play.

River Park Golf Center sold the land that was home to the golf facility in late 2017. After almost 20 years in the golf business, the owners of River Park Golf Center decided to close their doors. LPGA Teaching Professional Cindy Vining, had been teaching at River Park Golf Center since 2002. Being one of the busiest teaching professionals, Cindy spent quite a bit of time there and knew the facility had so much potential. After the land sold and was told that River Park Golf Center would close, she and her business partner approached the new land owner. Together, they were able to negotiate a new lease. After closing for a very short 2-week period, Valley Golf Center opened on January 12, 2018.

Both Owners are active in the operation of Valley Golf Center. It’s their goal to make the golf facility a safe, friendly & fun place to play and practice golf. They’re also active in the community, remaining involved with The First Tee of Fresno, The Len Ross Memorial Golf Tournament and many other community activities.
